As I think about my tenure with the company, my achievements, missed goals, lessons learned and so on… I can’t help but think back on all the performance reviews I have conducted and reviewed with my subordinates and managers through the past 10 years.

1. I’m so sleep-deprived I regularly lose my keys only to find them in the front door lock and my cell phone which is actually in my hands.  However I seem to be on point when dealing with customers, writing a request for proposal and making decisions all day.

2. I secretly cherish the TGIM… at least for a moment. That Monday morning you enjoy a hot cup of coffee and feel like an adult again. By Wednesday though you are already wishing for the weekend again so you can play on the floor with your child once again.

You may have to put down the hot pink lipstick and glittery eyeliner, however you don’t have to go bare-faced. On the contrary, studies have shown that women who wear make-up to work are more likely to get promoted, a bit sexist but real. The trick is finding a look that enhances your natural beauty and makes you look polished and and put together. Besides… let’s admit it… makeup is fun! I personally wear makeup to work every day, not too much, but just enough to make me look rested and alert.

Are children damaged when moms work? Or are the kids better off if mommy spent some time at work? 

Making the decision to stay home with your kids or join the workforce can be a very difficult process. As
a working mom I faced moments of sadness and guilt, specially when
I returned to work and my daughter was only 7 weeks old. However, I
certainly see both side of the coin. I felt confident that I was ensuring financial stability and prepared for unforeseen circumstances.  I am proud and thankful to have an
excellent support system, a gratifying career and still able to enjoy
motherhood.
